1. Explain the virtual simulation theory of consciousness
Virtual Simulation theory of consciousness is an imagination or a daydream your conscious dreams up to figure out the best scenario for you. In the film Consciousness as a Mobius strip, an endless surface it says consciousness is not something to be described by other things since its the context not the content. When your sleeping and you dream your conscious is still working but your body isn’t. In the Film Radiance with an edge it says we cant think beck to the beginning of our consciousness and we cant experience the end because we don’t realize that we font have full access to our minds and when it does thing we don’t always know it doing something.
2.How does the brain trick us and for what benefit is it for our genetic survival The brain tricks use for our benefit and our genetic survival because it doesn’t want use died. In the film Brain Burn it says consciousness is dissociation, it can play out scenarios with out physical harm to secure its four “f”.Most of our awareness is in out head and it doesn’t have to face the consequences of real life. The Consciousness is a virtual simulator so it play out scenarios for the best choice to do in real life, if we didn’t have that we would play out the first thing that came to out mind and that could lead to death

Week four: Extra Credit Response - Hello Gloria, My names Frankie and I liked reading your responses about consciousness being a virtual simulator and why our brain tricks us so much. I too believe it's strange that we are able to dream such vidid dreams that feel so real and how our minds are masters of illusions. That the dreams we have can feel so real that it becomes hard to distinguish reality and imagination. The fact that our consciousness is always trying to keep us surviving longer is, because it doesn't have to face real life by hiding within us, but that our bodies have to. Without this virtual simulator though I think we become more susceptible to death and our chances of survival lower.

I agree with Gloria that consciousness is a virtual simulator and why our brain tricks us so much. I also believe that it is strange that we find ourselves in vivid dreams that seem to be very real that are never real, and they are just illusions that forms in our minds. Such vivid dreams seem to be so real such that it becomes difficult to distinguish reality from imagination. Our consciousness makes us survive since it makes us view our world from a reality perspective thus keeps us going. I think virtual simulator helps us to see realities even though in the real sense they are illusions.
