1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
1. Although I think that artificial intelligence will be very beneficial in the future, I also think that it will become a huge problem in the future because there will be more machines that will think and behave just the way that human beings do. These robotic figures are going to have the same abilities that humans have. This topic reminds me of the movie "A.I." and how there was this company who created this robot child that looked so real like a human being and was expected to think and behave like a human being. This robot child was being tested by this one family who at first was acting like a robot but later gained some affection toward his fake parents. I think it's kind of scary to know that in the future there will be more and more modern technology. But I also think that artificial intelligence will benefit our lives more because now in the future, it will be more easier obtain information rapidly. Just like in the book, "Digital Philosophy" which explains that it is easier to access information rapidly using technology like searching and downloading books online rather than buying books or using the actual library. Even using the google glasses to know what humans are thinking almost as if one were psychic. Apart from that, I think that the future robots that will get created might somehow in the future have these emotional feelings like us humans do and we may become easily deceived and think that these human-like robots are actually human.
2. How has technology impacted you life?
2. Technology has impacted my life greatly. I always have my phone with me all the time because I feel that without my phone, I am completely lost. It's like how the film "Global Positioning Intelligence" stated that "almost anybody with a smart phone won't leave home without it". But this is probably because I rely so much on my phone. My phone is my piece of entertainment, but it is also very important to me since I also use it to check my emails, bank statements, find information fast, etc. In addition, I also believe that with this technology, there is less communication with people and it's funny to know that I rarely use my phone for calling. I communicate with people over the phone only if it's something important. But other than that, I don't even use my phone for calling, I feel that now it is easier to just text someone or email people. I remember that before, when smartphones weren't that popular like today, I used to use my phone a lot for calling. I also used to go out a lot with friends and we had to hang out in order for us to see each other and talk. But now with skype, facetime, and all those other video-chatting applications, it makes it more easier for us to communicate through a webcam and see people rather than the old-fashioned way of just going out with someone to converse.
