Why is there conflict between religion and science?
To begin my answer i want to make it clear that i am a god fearing man and hold my and if also believed in our lord up to the most high level as imagined, so within my own mind i find some of science to be flawed in what it teaches although i also believe that it was presented to us by our good God for us to be exposed to it and then discover and be the curious creatures that we are. Presented in the video Mysterium Tremendum the statement science is vision multiplied because if you peel back the layers of the matter science is exactly that. Humans just focusing deeper and in more detail on one or more things and then creating a theory or hypothesis about the subject. also in one of our videos it was said infinite faith is infinite doubt which to me knocked it out the park by way of being a man that does believe strongly in his lord above and one that his faith is at this point in my life becoming stronger everyday, however i think that by having faith you do consider or take into account the things that the unknown has to offer. Just as Socrates said "True knowledge is knowing that you know nothing" so by accepting that and understanding it also co insides with when you accept and understand who your god which then that is who you do whatever it is you may like or want to do with your precious time, by that i mean venturing and understanding other philosophy's about mysterious things so then you and your god of faith whatever it may be can then be knowledgeable about whatever it is you may face.
Why was socrates sentenced to death?
Two charges were presented upon Socrates one was that he did not believe in the Gods recognized by the state and the second was that he was corrupting the Athenian youth with his teachings. Socrates to me sounds like a man with a very strong will that was not easily broken. As he was not scare of the ultimate evil, death. With his first charge he never denied it but by no means accepts it. Much like me he understands the gospel and believed in God more than he feared man and understands that with his passing he will go to a better place, all from the writings of Plato in "The Apoligia". In "The Crito" Socrates words that it is wrong to return evil for evil and that the obligations that a citizen owes his state are more binding then that a child owes his parents or a slave his master, and therefor, it is his duty to submit to the laws of athens at whatever cost to himself express that although two wrongs will not make a right and the pleasing the people following these laws is harder than pleasing the needs of even your own parents as everyone wants to make them proud. However he does accept the fact that with his action comes consequence and he is ready to face them.
